How we work out your price

Airlines charge for space as well as weight, so we compare two numbers and use the higher one.

Actual weight

What the parcel weighs on our scale, in kg.

Volume weight

Length × width × height in cm, divided by 5000. A 50 × 40 × 30 cm box counts as 12 kg, even if it weighs 3 kg.

High-value items

A single item worth 500 ($ or £) or more adds 20% of its value (USA and UK).

Tip: ask the store to ship in a padded bag, not a big box. It often halves your volume weight.
